What does the Gun Cleaning Kit do in Stillskin Forest?
Select the Gun Cleaning Kit and use it: after a few seconds it cleans the most worn gun you carry, restoring about a third of its condition (never past full), and the kit is used up. Look for them in the campsite cabins, or buy one from the ranger trader for Embers.

Using it
- Select the kit and use it (click or R2). It works on the gun of yours that's most worn.
- It gives back about a third of that gun's condition and never takes it past full. The bag and hotbar show the new condition straight away, and a message shows the before and after.
- It's only used up once the cleaning is done. Put it away during the cleaning and the kit stays in your bag.
- If every gun you carry is already in perfect condition, it tells you so and keeps the kit.
- It can't bring back a gun that has already broken.
Cleaning kit or repair kit?
A Gun Repair Kit brings a gun all the way back to full but is rare. A Cleaning Kit does about a third of the job and is much easier to find, so use cleaning kits to keep a gun topped up and save repair kits for one that's badly worn. See Durability.
Where to find it
Cleaning kits turn up on tables, shelves and workbenches in the campsite cabins, and at the Lost Camp. The ranger trader at the Ranger Trader Station sells them for Embers too, 15% cheaper at night.
