Climbing, Jumping and Ladders

Can zombies climb ladders in Stillskin Forest?
Only if they watched you climb that ladder, and only for about 14 seconds afterward. Otherwise infected can't climb ladders, jump onto cars or furniture, or climb walls. That makes a roof reached by a ladder no chaser saw you use one of the safest places in the game.
Ladders
You can only climb at ladders. Press E at the bottom ("Climb up") or the top ("Climb down"), or walk into a ladder's foot. Jump lets go partway. Ladders lead to the hospital roof, the store roof, Tommy's attic, and the campground watchtowers.
Cars and furniture
You can't walk up onto a car or furniture; you have to jump. A jump from the ground clears the police car. Walls with ledges can't be climbed by accident.
What the infected can't do
- Jump onto cars or furniture.
- Climb ladders, unless one saw you climb it in the last 14 seconds.
- Open doors (they bash them instead; see Doors and building).
